Belt and Wire Woven Conveyors

When properly inclined at 30 degrees, the hyperbolic design of the Guidler provides a long line contact area of up to 4 inches to distribute these forces and thus reduce the tendency toward curl. In addition the flanges trap, contain and support the belt edge to prevent climb-over. It's design also provides for axial oscillation to accommodate belt flex and heave.

Woven Wire Conveyors

When woven wire belts operate under conditions of high or variable temperature they frequently move laterally against part of the framework - soon degrading to the point where corrective measures must be taken. Attempts to control tracking with inserts of structural steel are not effective because the lateral belt forces soon result in edge wear of the belt thru abrasion. Alternate attempts using conventional cylindrical guides eliminate the abrasion but fail in turn because the belt quickly grooves the guide as it makes point contact.

Clearly, more contact area must be provided to spread these forces over a greater area and this contact must not cause edge wear thru abrasion. The unique design of our Guidler does precisely that. When properly inclined at 30° the Guidlers hyperbolic curve provides a rotating contact area of up to 4 inches.

Installation is limited to outside the oven itself and to maximum temperatures of 200°. Special order Guidlers (with High Temperature Grease) can raise maximums to 400°.

Cone Pulley Drives

When high speed power transmission belts are moved laterally through the use of conventional flat shifters considerable belt edge abrasion and resultant friction is unavoidable. In addition, in many cases the shifter must also maintain continuous contact to prevent the belt's tendency toward riding toward the crown or high side of the cone. This type of wear soon degrades the belt to the point where replacement is necessary.

The Guidler makes it possible to control these belts without the above difficulties. When inclined 30 degrees, the unique hyperbolic curve of our patented Guidler provides a fully rotational long line contact area of up to 3 inches.

Belt speeds up to 5,000 FPM depending on lateral loads.
